<p>Hello! I'm Tono555, and I'm representing Wikia's Vanguard team. We're users who volunteer to help communities adopt to new technologies and features, like content portability. We've identified your community as a high priority for introducing the Portable Infobox tool, which has a lot of benefits for your community. Rather than get into all of the metrics and numbers (though I can present some of those if you're interested), I'll keep it simple. I'd like upgrade the Infobox templates themselves so that they can be accessible on any current and future platform. Maintaining them if you want to make changes should be very simple. </p><p>I'm going to add some Drafts of Infoboxes in Special:Insights/nonportableinfoboxes, which you can modify or approve early if you'd like. There are guides and resources on the Portability Hub for the structure and styles that can help you modify them. I've put the styling here. Everything should work properly as set up, so if we don't hear back from you, we'll assume there were no problems and will come back and approve the work as-is on or after October 31. </p><p>Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. <span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px;">Admins:</span> If you see any categories which are commonly added, but shouldn't be, please append the category's name to MediaWiki:Categoryblacklist. This will prevent anyone from re-creating that catagory (or using it, which can be the same as re-creating it). </p><p>
<span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px;">Users:</span> Please report any categories which need to be blacklisted to a member of the CtCD staff (preferably an active admin/bureaucrat). </p><p>
A couple of good indicators for such categories are: </p> <dl><dd>a) The category has been deleted multiple times. </dd><dd>b) The category has been repeatedly removed from articles. </dd></dl><p>You may report these on MediaWiki_talk:Categoryblacklist or on one of our Message Walls. </p>

<p>Just a heads-up to everyone (Bureau's/Admins mainly), I've implemented few new features for this wiki: </p>

• We now have a page that will display all duplicate images in the database; MediaWiki:DuplicateImages
• I've also included "Duplicate images" in with some quick links for site maintenance in the Special:RecentChanges page (near the top).
• There is now a feature for updating file-links across all pages when renaming an image. When you click the Edit dropdown while on an image page, and click Rename, you will notice a button which says "Rename and Replace". Once you've changed the name of the image, clicking this button will rename the image to what you specified and proceed to update all links pointing to the old filename, on all pages. (Btw, in order for the renamed image on the pages to be immediately visible, and not a redlink, you will need to click the (UTC) part of the clock above the navigation menu. This will purge the server cache and update the page.)
• I also changed the little button that appears below galleries to be more accurate, indicating that you can also *edit* the gallery, not just add photos to it. i.e. you can change the layout and how it looks & stuff.
