Courage the Cowardly Dog

The Bagge Farmhouse is the home of Muriel, Eustace, and Courage. It appears in nearly every episode and is the main setting for many episodes.

Description

The farmhouse is a two bedroom and two bathroom, wooden house that includes a living room, kitchen, dining room, attic, which also serves as a computer room and a dirt-floor cellar. There are also two wood-burning furnaces - one in the basement, and the other which occasionally appears in the living room.

The farmhouse is located adjacent to a singular road. Outside of the house, there is a water pump and a chicken coop housing several hens. In episodes such as "The Revenge of the Chicken from Outer Space" and "Little Muriel", there is a barn outside.

One of the farmhouse's most distinctive feature is the windmill. In Windmill Vandals, it is revealed that there is a curse which four vandals resembling the four horsemen will wreck havoc if the windmill ever stops turning. This eventually happens in the episode, but is repaired.

History

In the episode Everyone Wants to Direct, it was said that the Bagge Farmhouse was originally built over a cemetery. Later, Courage found out that Errol Von Volkheim was buried under the Farmhouse.

In a flashback seen in Farmer-Hunter, Farmer-Hunted, the farmhouse is seen with wooden walls with hunting trophies mounted on them and dead animals as rugs as it was revealed that Eustace's late brother Horst used to live with him prior to his passing. After Horst died and when Eustace married Muriel, the house was renovated removing Horst's trophies and replacing the walls with a decorative wallpaper.

Trivia

  • The living room of the house seems to change from episode to episode.
    • In one scene there was a fireplace, then a closet with a blue couch; in another episode, there is only a wall with a rectangular picture frame on it.
