Courage prepares to destroy the record player with a baseball bat.

The Man in Gauze is a theme featured in the season 1 episode "King Ramses' Curse" created for King Ramses' second plague. In the episode, the theme is played from a record player hidden behind a large rock.

Composition[]

The song was made by John Scott and C.P. Lee, who are both composers that created most of the music for the series. Series music composer Jody Gray described the song as "a musical joke", stating, "When trying to visualize what would be musically so horrible that Eustace and Muriel would scream and writhe in agony, we came up with really bad disco." Lyrics for the song were performed by Gray and fellow Courage composer Andy Ezrin.[1]

Lyrics[]

The man in gauze, the man in gauze,

The man in gauze!

The man in gauze, the man in gauze,

King Ramses!

(The man in gauze)

He's no Santa Claus!

The man in gauze, the man in gauze,

King Ramses!

The man in gauze, the man in gauze

He's no..SANTA CLAUS!

[Both pieces of the theme are repeated]

Trivia[]

  • Despite the music's intention of being very annoying, the theme is quite catchy and is very popular among fans.
