Thea Ruth White (née Zitzner; June 16, 1940 - July 30, 2021) was an American voice actress. She replaced Howard Hoffman and provided the voice of Muriel Bagge on Courage the Cowardly Dog and Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog.


Thea was born in Newark, New Jersey, U.S. on June 16, 1940. She is the daughter of Arthur and Theatrice (née Hazard) Zitzner, the sister of John Zitzner and A. Stewart Zitzner and the aunt of Brad Zitzner.[1]

She had undergone two liver cancer-related surgeries shortly before her death.


  • In addition to being an actress, White was also a librarian.[2]
  • Her mother and maternal grandmother Eva was both actresses.
  • Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog was her final performance before her death on July 30, 2021 and was released after her death on October 19, 2021.
